Puppy: First Consultation (At School)

During your first 90-minute session at our East Village Training School, we will review your puppy's behavior and temperament, introduce you to the basics and ensure we address any issues you might be encountering. For puppies under 5 months of age.

Adult/Adolescent: First Consultation (At School)

Join us at our East Village Training School for in depth two-hour consultation designed to assess and create a plan for adolescent and adult dogs with or without behavioral concerns.

Puppy/Basic Manners: Follow-up Session (At School)

Held at our East Village Training School, these fully customizable 60-minute sessions are for dog owners seeking personalized assistance creating a well-adjusted, balanced city dog.

Behavior Therapy: Follow-up Session (At School)

These in-studio sessions are for dogs who are experiencing behavioral issues such as anxiety or aggression towards dogs or people, our trainers will provide you with realistic management and training plans tailored to your dog and your lifestyle.

Day Training: Puppy/Basic Manners

Let one of our experienced trainers work one-on-one with your puppy or dog to help support your basic manners training plan. Owners need not be present during the session.

Introduce your dog to a new kind of veterinary visit. This joint session with Vets In The City and one of our trainers will give you the opportunity to field questions to a joint team of experts, while you also learn how to help your pet get comfortable being handled by medical professionals.

Group Classes

Prep School

Prep School is a six-week basic manners class designed to help you create a solid foundation of leadership and communication with your teenage or adult dog.

Grad School

Strengthen your dog’s behavior and sharpen your own training skills in this Advanced class. We will incorporate the “3 D’s” in exercises and games that will test your abilities as a team!

Puppy Kindergarten

Puppy Kindergarten is a six-week group class that covers important foundation behaviors and puppy topics including socialization, grooming and house-training.

Sidewalk Psychos: Level 1

Sidewalk Psychos is an 8-week group class with an urban focus specifically designed for for NYC dogs who bark, lunge or growl at other dogs on leash walks.

Tricks Class: Level 1

Learn building-block behaviors you can use to teach fun tricks, hone training, or groom a dog for the screen or stage. Pre-requisite: Prep School or instructor approval.

Tricks Class: Level 2

Use the building-blocks learned in Tricks Level 1 to teach your dog more advanced behaviors, including chain behaviors, differentiation, and even using an i-pad!

Intro to Scent Work

Scent work allows your dog to use their favorite thing: their nose! We’ll use their ability and desire to sniff things out to teach focus and burn some energy.

Calm Canine

If your dog has difficulty settling in new environments and could use help keeping their focus on you around distractions, this innovative group class is for you.

Canine Good Citizen Preparation Course

This class will focus on the 10 required items included in the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen Test.

Field Trip

Take you and your dog’s skills out into real world adventures! These are opportunities to get out of the city for day trips with your dog, while practicing and strengthening their behaviors in new environments.

Cooperative Care

Imagine putting your dog’s harness on, taking them to the vet, cutting their nails, giving them a bath, and administering eye/ear drops without any struggle or stress. Sound impossible? We’ll show you how!

Barkour

Unlock the inner athlete in your dog! This fun course is the city-dog’s answer to traditional “agility” classes.

Fear Free Vet Visits

Fear Free Vet Visits is a 6-week group class that features techniques for building positive associations with veterinary care and handling for your puppy.

iPaw Course

CLASS BEING HELD VIRTUALLY

This class, which was first developed by our co-founder Annie Grossman in 2013, challenges you to engage your dog with something you have on you all the time: Your touch screen device. Learn how you can use an iPad or iPhone to teach your dog new concepts and improve your ability to shape and cue subtle behaviors.

Day School

​Day School is a four hour weekday drop-off program at our training center designed to instill and maintain basic manners and leash training while you’re at work.

Misfits Day School

Misfits Day School is our specialized drop-off program created for dogs who need some extra help coping with the mean streets of New York City.

Puppy Day School

Puppy Day School is a three hour drop-off program designed exclusively for puppies between 8-20 weeks of age. This program focuses on providing safe, quality socialization experiences and basic training time for your puppy.

Kinetic Yard (20 lbs+)

Designed for dogs 20 lbs and up who love to be in motion. Perfect for dogs who love to wrestle and be active.

Recess Yard (10-20 lbs)

Designed for dogs who like to wrestle but are mindful of their surroundings, 10-20 lbs only.

Library Yard (10 lbs and under)

Designed for dogs who prefer low-intensity interaction with other dogs. Perfect for spatially sensitive and shy dogs.

Rowdy Teen Yard

Designed for adolescent dogs that want to wrestle and play like puppies. An excellent environment to practice break cues and to learn what appropriate play looks like going into adulthood.
